Meet Laura

Laura Castro (she/her), AMFT123055, Supervised by Mary Cipriani-Price, LMFT MFT32742

About myself

I am a West Coast native. I settled in San Diego after serving a 20-year career in the United States Navy. During my time in the service, I had the opportunity to travel the world, experience different cultures, and see how individuals, couples, and families relate to one another and the world around them. Our relationships shape us and feeling safe and secure is critical to our well-being, which is one of the reasons I decided to become a therapist.

I am currently a doctoral student and am progressing toward my Doctorate in Psychology at Alliant International University – San Diego. I earned a Master of Arts in Marital and Family Therapy from Alliant International University and a Master of Arts in Strategic Communication from National University – San Diego.

I have specialized training Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples, families, and individuals and am also working toward certification in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

I am passionate about diversity and inclusion and provide care through a multicultural, attachment-based, and trauma-informed lens. I believe ALL families and identities are valid, and I work hard to provide an affirming therapeutic experience for each of my clients.

I look forward to connecting with you to learn more about how I can support you along your journey.
